Despite knowing next to nothing about the other conf south clubs, i reckon hornchuch will buy their way to top spot, after which the top clubs will come from Newport, havant, grays, sutton Weymouth and Billericay.

Margate to finish about 10th. which i would be happy with.

Both HORNCHURCH and WEYMOUTH have put the money in and Hornchurch on paper look extremely strong but its a TEAM game and though their new players are class players that alone wont bring them success in their first year together.Weymouth have also added a few classier players but they will fit into a team already dissapointed not to have gone up last year and being used to each other after last year i.m.o. will fare better than hornchurch simply because of the experience they got from last year. Maybe if Hornchurch can keep their players together they will succeed next year. Just look at Northampton for an example. They piled the money in last year, were made favourites because of it but didnt start gelling till it was to late. This year is their year and Weymouth will do better than Hornchurch THIS year too.

Chelsea last season showed us that having shed loads of money does not necessarily mean you will win anything.

I will always believe (like Tony) that ultimate success depends on the TEAM commitment and effort as much as any other factor.

I tend to agree with Tony that Weymouth will do well this year, they have been building steadily. (Plus I am bitter and twisted about clubs with money to throw around because I wish we had some)

[color:"blue"]Won't be Billericay as they're not in Conference 2(south) <sorry to be negative>.

Grays looked powerful up front last year, and with a little more steel at the back could be strong contenders. Hornchurch have great experience with Garry Hill at the helm, but may be burdened by great expectactations - likewise Weymouth. Sutton & Thurrock finished second & third in the Ryman last season without big name signings (a'la Margate when we won the Dr Martens) so they must too be a threat. Weymouth aside, the top clubs in the Dr Martens last are with the Conference 2(North).

I'll go for

Grays / Hornchurch / Sutton / Weymouth & Welling .. Margate around 12th.

Having seen all the Ryman clubs both home and away, I will give you my humble opinion of a couple of the ones you have mentioned.

At the end of the last season, I would have agreed that Sutton and Grays would have been in with the top boys, but having a look on the Sutton forum shortly after they sold Nurse, their top scorer they were a bit down saying they had lost alot of their team.

Mel Capelton the Grays keeper who was outstanding for Grays, has left for pastures new.

My best moments of Margate was three seasons ago, when we met you in the Trophy. All your boys were singing we hate Dover in your clubhouse. We actually meet Dover, this season in the Ryman Premier away on Sat 28th Aug 04, so if your boys are away that day somewhere to far for you to travel, come and join the Braintree following at Dover. I will be there. <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I'm going to disagree with this.

I think Weymouth will win it having seen the documentary on them a while ago they look a good club and must have a very good chance.

As for us I'd be very annoyed if we finished out of the top five as long as we get a few more players in.

I will give a proper prediction when the team is finalised.

Yeah, coz that'll add to the intimidation factor no end <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

What intimidation? We are looking forward to visting Dover, what with you being an ex Conference team to visit like Slough one of the highlights for our season. Can't wait.

Braintree fans are no trouble at all. Just travel watch their football have some drinks and go home. Look forward to meeting you, invited the Margate boys to join us to help <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />boost our away following behind the goal.
