Polyphonic Spree - Together We're Heavy

Best album of the year so far by a country mile.

 

This has been a crap year for albums though. The Stands was disappointing, Morrissey uninteresting bar the singles, and even the usually trustworthy Charlatans I haven't bothered listening to more than a couple of times.

 

The Vines and the Delays were non-entities, and I have zero interest in Keane or Snow Patrol.

 

Even Jet, the best album I had previously bought this year, turns out to have been released in Autumn 2003.

 

Polyphonic Spree is the first truly great album I've heard this year, carrying on from where the first album left off, but even better.

 

By the way, Claire... Lesson 3 is their first album.

I've been listening to Van Halem!!!!!!!! It's brilliant!!!!!!

 

They are the first band that i have found do a fantastic intro to each of their tracks!!!!!!!!!!!

Brought the Polyphonic Spree single today along with Graham Coxon, Futureheads and Charlatons singles, I shall reserve judgement until I've played them ... I seem to of been reunited with Boing! by Airhead over the last few days, great album!

That album you gave me for my lesson 3 yesturday!!!!!! Brilliant!!!!!! It's so mooving and lovely!!!!!!!!!!

 

Has a very 60's feel i thought, and some simularities to the Beetles (can i say that?), but it was very relaxing and very happy vibes!!! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know!!!!!! But i have gone right off of boybands now Zeal!!!!!! I'm finally growing up!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I can't stand Justin anymore, i have to turn Will Young over, and well, I can't stand Blue anymore - they just don't do good music!!!!!

 

However, I am loving Van Halen, and music with a fantastic electric guitar, and a heavy loud bass!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

It's amazing that these big, grown, rock music type blokes can sing a song, that is just so romantic, that they make you cry!!!!!!!

 

But your cd you gave me, is so calming and definatley one you should listen to when you've had a hard day!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely top drawer. Definitely the best LP this year so far. Beatlesesque in places without being derirative, very mellow, just a beautiful beautiful piece of work.
