Having just read Mr Gregorys letter in the Observer I am appaled that the Observer prints letters that are so obviously lacking in facts and full of fiction.

 

He also quotes the names of various supporters Ian, Gary and Chris and makes comments about them!

 

He makes comparisons between Slough and Chelsea, talks about vandilisum, and loads more rubbish.

 

As he quite clearly pointed out at the meeting at the concil on monday he is not a football supporter, and neither is he living in this world.

 

I think he needs to talk to residents around Windsors ground to ask them about the level of vandilisum they experiance - none.

 

The only problem Windsor residents experiance is 2 hours of cars parked in the vecinity - but with a proper car park this would not be a problem - sorry Windsor FC.

 

I more interesting and "constructive" letter from Pat Shrine also apears.

 

No letters from fans though.

There is a letter from Ted which is printed on the next page. I know that both Gary and I submitted letters to the Observer but neither were published.

 

As for the letter from Pat Shine, I'm pretty sure the guy is on autocue. He read out the very same piece of information on both Monday and Tuesday night and now it is printed in the paper on Friday. Fair enough I guess but I'm getting a little bored hearing him say it.

I do believe that there was only one incident of violence involving Millwall fans from the start of 80s, but the bloke is a [****!!****] idiot, and you can quote me on that

He makes my blood boil, why do his letters get printed when they're so inaccurate.

He keeps comparing us to QPR, what is he on about, we will never be like that.

He's entitled to his opinion but he should get his facts straight before slinging shi t. As Brian Potter says 'you sling enough shi t, some of it sticks.'

Maybe we should reply to the papers saying we think he might be a paedophile and we don't want him living in Slough. It's complete bull and unfounded but that doesn't seem to matter.

Mr Gregory is entitled to have his say, I would just prefer the editor to have some sense and not publish items that have little or no credence.

NelsonTheDagger also sent his letter you mentioned yesterday (and which was published in the Slough Express)to the Observer. I haven't read the Observer yet so don't know whether it's in there.

 

Interesting that the Observer don't publish letters on an important, contentious and currently very newsworthy local issue.......is there a lot of other local news this week and they're short of space?

Nelson's letter does not appear in the Observer. I guess from the point of view of the editor, that puiblication dedicated a whole page to letters from supporters a couple of weeks ago - therefore perhaps it is time for others to have their say. The timing of letters from Gary and myself was perhaps unhelpful too as we sent them on Wednesday via email following the two meetings earlier this week - perhaps that part of this week's edition had already been finalised

I do think the cut off for letters is on a Tuesday at lunchtime, so certainly mine was late, but I will be penning responses to both the Express and Observer this week.
