Tomorrow at Dunstable Town.

AFF

Recommended Posts

Well I don't know about the rest of you, but I, for one, am really looking forward to tomorrow's game at Dunstable Town. I appreciate that these friendlies against the big boys from the pro game are essential money spinning days for the club, but they don't really do it for me.

It should be a good run out for t'lads at Dunstable Town. I'm looking forward to seing how the new boys, Matt 'Matty' Hann, Craigy Rydeheard, Darren 'Sarlly' Sarll and Mel Capleton gel with the established stars from last season, Migsy, Zoro, Seebs, Parks, Thommo etc. etc. and, of course, Lee Clarke. My sons and heirs are up for it, too. We went to the Reserves friendly against Shenfield, and although they wear the yeller& blue, and it's good to see them do well, it's just not the same thrill as watching the 1st team. You know what youngsters are like.

Talking of the Reserves, I see from the Official web-site that they are at Erith & Belvedere tomorrow. Well good luck to them, too. Does anyone know what league E&B play in?

If there is any last minute change to tomorrow's arrangements, I assume that we will hear about it on the Official web-site first?

If you decide to take the bus (343) to Dunstable, as a posh car in Dunstable will be trashed (especially in that area AFF), please bear in mind that you will indeed travel through the inbread society that is known as Markyate!!!!!! please watch out for the following mongs:

Jimmy Lions (he hasn't had a wash EVER. He smells, wears the same clothes EVERY day, and his hair is well, well there's enough greese on that hair to fry the chips at city!!!!)

Fred Burr - a convicted Scitzo!! He needs to take shots each day in order to keep his mind at peace, but he (sometimes) forgets to take them and so goes into one!!!!! (Also, please note, if he corners you, he will try and sell you tobacco!!!!!!)

Lisa Dumpleton - the Markyate Bitch. Fat cow. Beware, she will indeed break your legs if she manages to sit on you!

And finally, my dad. He will be the [****!!****] coming out of the pub (the Swan, on the left hand side of the high street) and falling in the road). Please do not try and help him to his feet, it wont work - just leave him there (just drive around him!!!!!)

Now, I wont be going to Dunstable (have far to many important things to do, like shopping, and, well shopping!!!!!) and I am also cooking dinner for some very important guests (yes, you heard/read correctly, I will be cooking!!!!!) so I will have to for-go this match.

Still, it will be an experience for all you lot, that don't usually bother to travel this far out from St Albans (especially on a bus!) I mean, Dunstable is a further 3 miles than Markyate, and well, some people are making more of an effort to travel to blo0dy Dunstable than they do to Markyate.

Claire, is the General forum not working. Perhaps you could continue your conversation about Markyate over there.

AFF started this thread to discuss the serious business of the friendly in Dunstable or is it Erith.

AFF, I heard a rumour that the fixtures were reversed. Anyway, I've since looked at the offical site and can confirm what you say is accurate.

Voice, yep, I'm travelling to the offical first team match as advertised on the up-to-date website, at Dunstable Town.

I'm on the 343 at 12:25 which arrives about 13:05 in the town centre there. I'm planning to do a few beers on route.

Regarding Kitson, I suggest you check the website every few minutes for an update on this matter.

"Reversed" Laz? What do you mean "reversed"?

Arrangements have been made Laz. T'lads and I are going to Dunstable Town to see the 1st team PSF, as advertised on the web-site and as mentioned in the local press.

"Reversed"? You don't mean that you heard that the Reserves are playing at Dunstable and the 1st team are at Erith & Belvedere? No, Laz. Had there been any changes made to the fixtures, the Club's Media and Communications Department would have let Webbo and Rob know well before now so that the fans could make arrangements.

Rumours!

Robster, do you think it would be possible to stick any updates on here (and any offical forums) if the main site is not working?

Now, why would GHA need his gloves. Are we expecting a change in the weather or is there a goal keeping crisis looming?

when the new site goes online in a week (at a cost of over £200 - any donations - nah thought not) there will be a facility to add news without ftp access - I will be asking a few people to help out with this because believe it or not - Rob and I work for a living...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought someone from the club sponsered the website.

I assumed this was why you jumped every time Gibbo told you to do something.

Hi Rob.

How about this, just as a draft for discussion purposes:

"Early doors, we arranged a pre-season friendly with Dunstable Town and a friendly match for our Reserves against Erith & Belvedere for Saturday, July 24th as part of the buid-up for our asssault on the Conference South and the Capital League championships respectively.

The Manager, Steve Castle has been delighted with the number of triallists hoping to sign for The Mighty Saints this term and has not yet finalised the squads for the 1st team and the Reserves for the coming season. As a result, it has been decided to approach these matches as final trials and to select two squads of broadly equal ability.

Two fans with any goalkeeping ability who aren't doing anything else on Saturday afternoon are invited to contact the chap who used to drive the red tractor at Clarence Park."
