Money matters

It's getting very close to the start of the season and it seems that we cannot look to Slough BC for help in running the club. They have also been instrumental in driving away the only person rich enough to keep us going for 6 years without any sort of return.

So, is there anything that we can do?

What are the players' views on the situation, given that they are unlikely to be paid?

What arrangements have been put in place to fulfil the contractual obligations to Matt Miller and Danny Steer who are currently on contract?

Is there any money in the Trust's kitty to make some small payments to the players until such time as the on-going situation is clarified (at which time the players will, presumably, walk away and find clubs who will be able to pay them)?

Will we have a team at all this season?

I'm willing to up my monthly donation to the Trust but, on its own, that would only pay for Ian Hodges' left leg.

When we were in the depths of despair in 1998, someone at the open meeting said that, if the worst came to the worst, he could raise a team so that STFC could at least fulfil its fixtures. He did add that he didn't think the team would be very good - but it would be a team.

Are we yet in the position where we have to climb to the loft to dig out our old boots?

You would have the following income (presuming the rent's been paid on our behalf)

Income:

Coldseal Sponsorship

Gate Receipts

Advertising Income (Boards, Matches, Matchballs, Players)

Golden Goal

Raffle

Supporter Donations

FA Prize Money

Possibly Trust Donations - Decided by members as to a % to give to the club on a weekly basis?

Outgoings:

Officials Fees

Travelling Fees

Player Wages

League Fees

Matchballs

Training Equipment (if required)

It's making sure the top list is more than the bottom list. If we had bar takings and food takings as well, we'd be a lot more likely to accomplish that.

Windsor cost around £100-£120k a year (quoted in the paper a week or two ago) I don't know how much sponsership money brings in but it looks like you'll need to raise alot of cash. At least your rent is being paid.
