Last night vs. Watford Reserves.

After a bright opening few minutes when we pressed and forced two terrific saves in quick succession from Russell Lee in the Hornets goal, Watford took control and played some wonderful football throughout the first half. It was 3-0 at half time and, after a second half when the visitors took their foot off the gas, it was 5-0 at the final whistle.

The home side was: Capleton, Zoricich, Craig Rydeheard, Darren Sarll, Campbell, Seeby, Matt 'Matty' Hann, Parker, Daniel 'Macca' McBreen, Dean Fenton [the dreadlocked one] and Parys Okai. On the bench: Lee Clarke, Sargant, Martin Standen [who came on for Macca], Paul 'Abbo' Abbott [who came on for someone] and Thomas.

The Watford side was: Lee, Herd [former City Yoof, apparently], Smith, Howarth, Collins, Young, Bonazza, Coleman, Ferrell and Anthony McNamee [JKIF was right. He was worth the admission on his own]. On the bench: Norville, Hitchcock, Mawer, Diafutua and Gilligan.

The crowd was swelled by a number of U7's and their entourage from the Leisure Connection soccer school who did a half-time demonstration. I'd guess at 350 or maybe a few more.

The people in the burger van have their new T shirts and apron/tunic things with "St Albans City FC: Catering Department" emblazoned. It occurred to me that the smart uniform might be extended to the Bar Manager, her husband and the staff. I'll have a word.
