While queuing to collect my copy of Country Life at the newsagents this morning, I scanned the back page of the St Albans Observer.

 

Former Premiership star, Paul Kitson, whose previous clubs include West Ham, Newcastle Utd, Derby County and Colchester Utd, trained with the Mighty Saints on Tuesday, as did Gary Crawshaw. Lee Clarke is a target, but we are facing stiff competition from a number of other clubs following the Northern Ireland U21 striker's release by Peterborough. The manager is having a look at Daniel McBreen, an Aussie striker who is a mate of Chris Zoricich.

 

I heard at t'Park last night that Lee Clarke has signed and committed his future to the Saints. Lee came on as a second half substitute in the Watford friendly.

Mcbreen looked slightly less that match-fit to me.

Kitson quality. A bit injury prone with the Hammers but did a great deal to keep us up in 1997.

Precisely. In my opinion, McBreen shouldn't have started the second half. Or the first half, for that matter.
