Clearly an administrative error on the part of Watford F.C., GHA. When they gave details of t'match to the agency that issues those details to the TV companies, they must have forgotten to say "Reserves". The chap was probably in a hurry.

 

It might put a few more on the gate, mind you.

 

Watford 1st team played last night at Northwood [for whom Jonny Moore is playing this term, by the way]. Any idea of the score?

 

Admission prices? No idea but I'll guess at £35 adults and £45 concessions and ex-freeloaders? £5 upgrade to sit in the stand [but only if you approach it from the York Road end]?

I don't know where you get your cynicism from, GHA. Me? I'm tingling with excitement at the prospect of tonight's game.

 

I must confess that I have been very concerned at what's in store for this coming season. However, after Saturday and last night, I have now come to terms with it.

 

A new approach.

That was me. I wondered if I qualify for 'top boy' status as a result of the pitch invasion.

 

I had to recover a ball which someone else had been juggling with. I thought that I was pretty quick over 10 yards. The recovery rate was, as ever, very good.

 

Strikers, GHA? I seem to recall that JKiF used to play a bit. You don't happen to know whether he played up front, do you? Has he still got his boots?

PSF's of this kind don't really do it for me but this should be another very good test for t'lads and a major money spinner for t'club, Rob.

 

I imagine that the Manager will be sorting the squad into 1st team and Reserves 'possibles' for the two friendlies on Saturday and then cutting them to 'probables' thereafter.

 

Roll on August 14th.

My source is 'highly placed' in last season's Reserve set-up. I didn't cross-examine him concerning Pre-contract Agreements, signing and committing his future to the Woood, in fairness.

Another 'highly placed source' from last season's Reserve set-up told me last night that Jonny Moore hasn't actually signed and committed his future to the [North]Woood. Apparently he is training with both Northwood and Bishop's Stortford. [He should be quite fit, I imagine.]

 

He was at the game last night [as a spectator]. He could do with a hair-cut.
