The Fixtures

I would like to ask somebody at the ESL, what they are achieving by making ET v Romford midweek? Is it personal as most of us believe, come on League Chairman stand up and be counted...And also, you have been somewhat noticeable by your abscence of late...so explain why all the early season midweek fixtures?

Whos is doing the fixtures, cause presumably the Ilford bloke isn't anymore.

This ET V Boro thing really anoys me , it is so pointed.

If both clubs banded together and created a big enough stink, would the powers to be re think.

P.S. You could always flood your pitch on the night so it gets called off!

Morning all.....

Just reading some of the comments about the ESL fixtures.....

Surely the powers that be must realise the ETFC V Romford will be the biggest game in this league....therefore it should be staged on a Saturday....there'll be an even bigger crowd....

Saying that...(A slight contradiction)...maybe thats why its on a midweek...so all the other clubs can see the game as well...?????

I do agree that is a bit of a b****r the ET Romford Game being on a Tuesday Evening. A lot more difficult for the "People" that "Do" on Match days.(Me being one of them)Chemo permitting that is!!!

Having said that, I guess we just have to get on with it don't we? We will make you all as welcome as we always do.

It seems there was a lot of people after a 42 league season.

I have been banging on about this for ages but have had no response whatsoever. Are we sure it is only a 28 league season as no one is saying anything...

Why cant we have the league fixtures mainly on saturdays and leave the mid-week dates for the cup competitions, after all the league is the main competition?

The point is that Romford are in an annoying "have team will travel" situation on August 14.

Is there anyone out there with an intelligent suggestion for filling this void.

It has been suggested that, as the SSML apparently start on 21 August, one of their teams might have that date free for a competitive friendly.

Perhaps Mr Potters Bar Town FC might be able to offer some ideas on this if it is feasible.

Hi there Mr PBTFC, many thanks for your interest and post. I've tried to get on the SSML website to mention that, at the moment, we have a free away Saturday due to a league fixture situation on August 14 but it's like trying to get into Fort Knox.

Do you have any suggestions as to how we can overcome this problem to move things on?
