Probably describe this one as a good work out for the lads - quite competetive as these games go with both teams not holding back on the tackles, first half in particular. 21 players used, mostly triallists.

Considering we won our 3rd vase back in 1979, and we're competiting in the trophy i doubt it too.

Yes 0-0 not a great result, but who cares? it was a pre season friendly and the score is irrelevant.

Well said Dave W was not at the game last night but pre-season friendlies are about gaining full match fitness and finding your best team ready for our championship season.

 

I hear that Dave McSweeney ex Southend played at the back with Robin Trott how did he get on.

he looked pretty good, showed alot of composure on the ball, and played some good long balls out of defence. Would be a good signing. I have heard hes already played for Crawley and Dagenham in pre season.

I know it's a cliche, but results genuinely aren't that important in these games - thrashing the likes of Barking and Waltham Forest did us no good this time last season! Our best ever season came after a summer in which we didn't win a single game (played 6 drew 3 lost 3 if memory serves).

 

As far as individual performances went, the first half back 4 of Herrera (I think), Trott, McSweeney and Kerrigan did well, both full backs getting forward well. Fergus and Quiston on the wings looked useful as well.

 

2nd half was a bit scrappier, but the youngster in midfield did well, as did cousins on the left wing.
