The 'Official Club Message Board'.

Now here's a brief story that may be of passing interest.

Last week I visited the Official Club Message Board on the Club's Official web-site. I felt a bit lonely, but nevertheless. There was a message from some chap who runs an "Unofficial" web-site [shock! Horror!] at Newport County F.C. and he was asking for information about their opponents for the coming season. My cup must have been overflowing with goodwill that day as I posted a brief message suggesting that he should contact this board.

My message has since been deleted.

As I suspect that it wont last many nano-seconds, here is my posting on there this morning:

"Hi Rob.

Last week, in an effort to assist this Welsh chap and in the spirit of brotherhood that embraces fans of Non League football, I posted a brief message on this thread suggesting that he should try our message board on www.nonleague.net etc etc.

There was no racism, no religeous bigotry, no reference to sheep, no bad language or, perish the thought, no criticism of the Board, the Officials, the playing staff or any fans of St Albans City F.C. in my message. It was a very brief message, in any event.

Now here's a funny thing, Rob.

That message has been deleted, Rob.

So Rob. Are you and Webbo trying to maintain the illusion to Gibbo that the 'other' message board, the one with 70,000 postings, increasing by something like 200 per day, yes that one, has been shut down?

Or do you object to this Welsh chap obtaining the information that he is seeking?

Me? I come from the Abraham Lincoln School of Honesty.

I expect that whoever deleted my message from last week will also delete this one.

Here's a quote for you, Rob:

"The triumph of evil requires a few good men to do nothing."

And here's another while I'm in the mood:

"In 1985, blind faith in your leaders, or in anything, will get you killed".

I was going start my own unofficial offical message board where I am king and all messages would be deleted, etc, etc. Then I realised I was being just as pathetic as those who run the new forum so I didn't bother.

Yes. The former Chairman was interviewed under caution at the Police Station as I recall. Me? I was invited by the Police to make a statement, which I did.

If ever I need advice on how to rack up debts of £100,000, have a football club suspended from the League mid-season and taken to the brink of extinction with an application for a winding-up order heard in the High Court in London, I'll know where to come.

"Invited" you say ... hmmm ... not what they told me ...
