If they think they've placated us tonight, patted us on the head and that we'll go away, they really have underestimated us.

Be there tomorrow at whatever time is possible and for as long as possible. Bring the drums and make some noise.

WE WILL NOT LET THEM KILL OUR FOOTBALL CLUB.

Calm down. Don't jeopardise what was achieved on Monday evening.

After you went home a lot of serious talking was done. Both sides understand each other's perspective. Holding a demo to bully councillors into making a decision, at the public expense, beneficial to you is not the best method of working harmoniously with the other side.

Honest answer: I don't know.

Questions to you:

(1) What makes you think any secret deals done by Labour councillors in the past are legally binding on Slough Borough Council especially as they have not been lawfully authorised by the council and documented in the official records?

(2) In the last 6 years prior to 10 June 2004 how many open public meetings have been held by the council to discuss the stadium issue?

(3) In the last almost 5 weeks since the elections on 10 June 2004 how many open public meetings have been held by the council to discuss the stadium issue?

(4) Spot any differences between answers to (2) and (3) ?

What was achieved on Monday evening was no more than a return to the position of 3 weeks ago before Councillor Stokes' ill judged comments. Whether or not there is anything in writing referring to the commitment made six years ago (try the filing cabinet top drawer referred to by Councillor Swindlehurst) there is currently a legally binding contract between the Council and Martyn Deaner regarding the feasibility study.

The comments at the meeting that Mr Deaner did not have to walk away are laughable. No arbitrator in the world would consider a statement by the Council Leader that the study will be cancelled at the first opportunity to be anything other than a breach of contract.

I'm sorry, Paul, if you think that our demonstration is bullying tactics but maybe we have learned that's how to achieve things by observing the Councillors elected to represent us.

You mean the binding contract Cllr MacIsaac referred to on two or three separate occasions throughout the meeting? Seems that despite not being a Labour Cllr, he is fully aware of the situation.

Of course Paul, the only demonstrations you believe in are the numerous ones you appear in, pictured in the papers.

Bullying councillors? Of course you were absolutely nothing to do with a proposed demonstration outside a councillors house a few years ago.

Funny how many demonstrations you've been a major part of, but when someone else does it they are bullying!!!

Pot, kettle, black,you prize dipstick.

1. Stop spreading lies about secret deals. It may fool the voters of Britwell, but since users of this forum have known about the agreements for years, you won't fool us that they are secret.

2. None, but many private meetings with the owner were held, and these reached a satisfactory conclusion.

3. One. Arranged virtually without notice. Arranged to coincide with the Laboiur group meeting, and the Conservative group meeting.

4.Yes. The meetings prior to 10th June gave our club a future. Whats happened since 10th June has negated al;l the previous good work.

Paul, stop playing politics with our club.Telling us not to go ahead with the demo---what a cheek!! Your manouvreings are easy to spot.

OK, here's one for the conspiracy theorists.....

"We (SLough Borough Council, of whatever political hue), don't want or need the problem caused by the Football club, it makes too many flaws in the Council processes evident as well as being evidence of general bad faith and inability to solve problems.

In the recent past, the fans have been annoyed with Mr Deaner over the Wexham Park situation, but with the Kennedy Park plan, at last the Fans and the Owner are going along the same lines - oh-oh trouble. Some of our guys have stuck their necks out and already said they don't want this, even before the Feasibility study is completed.

How can we divide and rule? I know, say something which will really upset Mr Deaner and make him walk away - don't worry, we can deny it later, nobody believes the press any more than they believe politicians. ....................Great, plan accomplished, we have got rid of a man who has £250k to spend on the plan, now we only have to deal with a few Supporters in a Trust with no money at all to spend, soon fob them off, as they won't be able to fund the team for long, so will grasp at any straws we offer......"

Well, we are NOT going to go away. We will be the millstone around this council's neck until the problem is solved. The Albatross to their Ancient Mariner! Politely, but firmly. We will campaign for public support - after all it could be any local organisation in this position, from Ice-hockey, to rugby to Judo. The club has done nothing wrong, apart from not buy the Greyhound Stadium and has been punished ever since. What do we want? We want a home! When do we want it? Now is impractical, but as soon as possible, we don't have another six years.

So let's see you guys being constructive Mr Councillor, no more prevarication, no more obfuscation, no more blame game, no more evasion - just simple action!!!

Thank you Paul for contributing to the forum. I find it interesting when you say that after we (the supporters) left last night there was a lot of serious talking done. It is a shame really that such serious talking was not permissible during the meeting, at least in the period before Cllr McIssac spoke. I lost count of the number of times that football supporters tried to remind the Leader of the Council that we were there to discuss the future of the football club, not to be caught in the crossfire between the previous and existing council administration.

That said, the second half of the meeting was far more civilised. Should I see anybody write to local newspapers, fearing that Slough Town supporters are hooligans, I will invite them to a football match and then take them to a council meeting, and let them make up their own minds which group are better behaved, the football fans or the politicians!

The protest should be kicking off in about 15 minutes time. I'm looking forward to joining my fellow supporters later in the day where I hope that our passion for the club and for the town will come through, enlightening those councillors who perhaps are unaware of just how important football in Slough is to us. As Cllr Stokes decalred himself a supporter of the club last night, I hope he will put on a Slough scarf and join us.

The lunatics and loose in the nut house !

That Open meeting did absoultly nothing !

Cllr Stokes - gave 4 options to us which were totally not workable and the reason were given quite clear to him and the members there !

The time scales on all were just not acceptable !

the decisions have to be made in days not years that some proposals would need !

Then he had the bare face cheek to say we rejected them ! Thats like asking him to drive his car with one wheel !!! and be legal !

The seer arrogance and the down right pack of lies spoken were a total disgrace and the coalition if make choices like this for the people of Slough ...god help us all !

The counillor (Your Know who)

We hold meeting open for all !

We should not bully councillors !

Does not pratise what he preachers !

Twice last night he was caught out ...

But had excuses that his ways were different....

Yea Yea Yea..... woffle....

Our Supporters were patrionist (but Some) not all I must say...and I am Sure that even some of the independants don't want to be associated with them, but i say to them , then don't sleep in the same bed ! They will need to do something soon as the farce can and should not continue .

The lunatic's are running the mad house !

God Help our Town (except Britwell) because they are going to now continue the fesiblity study with tax payers money and then take the best bits and then use tax payers money to build these faclities !!!

And guess what build them on Kennedy Park !!!

On a scheme at best was going to provide ALL residents of the town with faclities to be proud of ...and the residents getting exactly what they want to...with football funded grants and foundation money....

What will the tax payers of this town think of that !

Wake up and smell the coffee !

We have no future with this shower ! unless some of them see the light , we as residents are heading for disaster ! and a town without a football club...

We fight on......

cheers Chris Sliski
