Claire - why don't you just buy a portable CD player for about £30 and plug it into the cassette player??

But when I'm going to spend that amount of money on a new(ish) car, i want what i want in there as well!!!!!!!!!

Claire, maybe you should budget £4500 for the car and £500 for extra's like alloys or CD player, also, if it's such a deal breaker try haggling a bit with the seller.

But for the money that 206 is very good. How about this as an alternative?

Renault Clio 1.2 Sport 3 Dr Hatch £ 4,599

Year: 2001 'Y'

Mileage: 34,062 mls

Colour: Pacific Blue

Fuel: Petrol

Gearbox: Manual

Extras: Airbags (driver & passenger), 14" Alloy wheels, Central Locking, Electric Windows (front), Power-Steering, Radio-Cassette, Sunroof

Then there's plenty of extra budget for your CD player. I'd also remind you that Motor Manufacturer's CD players vary wildy, the best one I ever had came standard with a Nissan Micra, the one I had in my BMW was really disappointing, if you get your own one fitted you know you'll be getting exactly what you want.

I do want a good millage (under 30,000) so i am making that a priority, but a cd player (because i have to drive long distances everyday) is also a priority to me as well.

I would keep back a little extra for the cd player to be put in if needs be, but not for alloy wheels!!!!! Come on!!!!! I live in Markyate!!!!!! They'd be knicked before long!!!!! PLus they put extra on the insurance!!!!!!!!!!

It is an excellent car SteveP, but i wouldn't travel into London on my own to look at it. My mum won't come with me, and i have no other people to come with me, to help me out, and all these salescar people always see me as an easy target!!!!!!!

Ok, well the Great Trade Centre is a car supermarket. It is not in the middle of town, it's just off the A40 and not too bad to get to, but they are not really that pushy, because if you don't want to buy what they have on offer there's plenty who will.

But if you want to look locally check out http://www.autotrader.co.uk

How are you buying the car? Part ex and cash or finance?

For finance check out:

or

Hope this helps

Well i'm gonna part exchange my current car and use that as a diposit as it wouldn't fetch much money if i sold it privately, so this is probably the better solution. I shall then be finding a loan from somewhere to pay off my existing loan, and credit cards so i have one big loan, and then i shall be cutting up all my credit cards and start saving some cash each month instead of the cash i have to repay the credit cards back!!!!!

This money that i shall be saving will then go towards a deposit for a mortgage. I shall then be sensible with my money and if i have no money to go out, then i don't go out!!!!!!!!

Look at the loan calculators and see what you can afford, don't go rushing in to a new car if you can't afford it, it will seriously fk your finances up if you over stretch yourself. The sainsbury loan is very good though and used it to defer a £4500 loan for 3 months, after which I paid the whole lot off!

Figure out how much you owe

Get a realistic trade in value for your car

Find out how much you can borrow

Then you'll know if you can actually afford it.

How do i find out a realistic trade value for my car? I wont know what it should be unless the traders tell me, and they could fob me off with anything!

Loandirect had the best repayment value, sainsbury's was a little too high, but am i classes as over 22?
