Saturday vs. Fisher

AFF

It was played at Greenwich Borough [Q. Which former England International and record scorer for his club played first for Greenwich Borough?] because the new turf at Fisher's ground hasn't 'taken'. It's a bit like London Colney's ground only not quite as luxurious.

Fisher's player manager is Wayne Burnett and on their books are Steve Watts, the Pipers and Hamid Barr.

It finished 1-1.

Steve Castle fielded a different side in each half. [in the] First half, the two strikers were the dreadlocked one from Wednesday and an Aussie called 'Macca' MacGreen [?]. 'Parysy' Opai stood out playing wide on the left and his cross after a clever run found the back of the net to equalise. Scott Atkinson played wide right in the midfield. Our centre backs were Corey Campbell and [?] Freitas who played for Hitchin last season. Robbo in goal, Sargant and Zoricich at full back, Parker and Abbott[?] in the midfield.

The first half was played at 100 mph and wasn't particularly pretty to watch. All those lads trying to impress t'Manager I expect.

[in the] Second half, up front was 'Matty' Hann and the other one from the first half on Wednesday ? Standen. De Souza and Campbell were centre backs. Craigy Rydeheard played. Sarll and Seeby in the midfield. Thomas and Sargant were the full backs. Capleton was in goal.

Will Davies and Graeme Butler made the trip but are injured. A few other faces that I didn't recognise. No Oakes.

For me, our midfield didn't do a lot [in the] second half so the strikers couldn't do a lot but I expect there were some positives that could be taken even though I didn't spot them. I don't know anything about football, don't forget.

The attendance was 85, including about 20 or so Travelling City Faithful

It was free entrance, that was positive!

The fellow on the left looked good and Hann looked good on the right in Worms, so just need to sort out the centre mid. Where was Wraight?

And some strikers might be good, has Neily Gough Goff left? Any chance Perkins could return?

I can't really comment on the 2nd half as I left early, like the footballers I have to ease myself back into the game slowly and that's what pre-season is all about.

If I vist a nicer area this season, I'd be surprised!

Plus one Canvey fan who fancied a few beers and a game of football!
