Can anyone tell me if this is defo going ahead this Friday as it's still on the top of the page, but Mal at Windsor seems to think it won't be - anyone got any idea?

Roy was pretty certain that the match was going to be played and that Mal was wrong when I asked him about this on Thursday night.

I have spoken to our chairman, Peter Simpson, on Thursday and he told me that he had a meeting with Roy and they agreed that the game would not happen at Stag Meadow but if Roy wanted to find an alternative then that was up to him.

Fair enough Mal, I'm not trying to discredit you. Roy seemed pretty confident it was happening on Thursday but perhaps he spoke to Mr Simpson later that evening.

If you mean the one on the 27th then at the moment no.

 

BUT, before anyone starts saying why not, we are leaving it to the last minute to decide.

 

The markings and posts will not be put up until the day before the first game is going to be played, as far as I know.

 

If there is any doubt that the pitch is not ready on the 27th then the game will not be played.

 

We have spent a lot of money on the pitch this season and we don't want to risk causing problems later in the season because we used it too early.

 

I am sorry if this has caused problems for you, it has for us. If the company who were responsible for laying the turfs had done the jobe properly in the first place then there would be no problem.

We do understand Mal, but perhaps if you could not declare our match as off until we actually have confirmation from Roy....
