THE BEATLES - Q's Top 20

I agree Chubbhead , Select was great. Vox as well(if you can remember that far back). Not sure where your signature is from...

Great lists Zeal - not keen on everything they've done but how many bands can you say that about... I swear 'music' people claim they don't like them (Oasis as well) simply because so many people do.

I remember Vox. I only bought one issue though, but that was because it had a free cassette (a cassette!) that had this Radio 1 documentary on oasis. It also had Robert Smith from The Cure on the front.I must have been about 10/11 at the time so most of the comtent of the magazine I wouldn't have 'got', but I've still got it I think. Definitley still have the tape anyway.

By the way, my signature is a quite from a shakespere play-not sure which one though, AOL had a link to great Bard insults and I just nicked it off there! It took me about 10 minutes to place your quote MK!

I've found MOJO a little disapointing of late. I think there is only so much you can read in a song or a track or a piece of history (be it music or otherwise)...

Take John Lennon's "Lost Weekend" for example. For one reason or another (and I would suspect Yoko Ono), he went on a bender. During that time, he was talking to Paul, Ringo and George and who knows what would've happened (there are bootlegs of at least Paul on drums and John on guitar plus guests)....But i've read loads of versions as to what happened over that 18 months....and too tell you the truth, I don't really need to read it again. The same applies when The Beatles appear in the mag. How many times do we need the history and a critic of the bands music...For those who are interested in it, know all (or at least most) of what happened between 1962 and 1970. It's getting to the point that every second of their lives will be analysed. And I'm using the Beatles as an example...They do it with quite a few bands - how many times do I need to read about the making of Pet Sounds!!! (still, it does show the power of the bands and albums when, even in 2004, articles re hashing the "facts" are still popular).

On a similar note, has anyone got The Beatles - After The Break Up (1970 - 2001)? It is suggested that JL was planning to "do" something with PMacC after the release of Double Fantasy...Now if only...Fate deals a very cruel hand.
