I read somewhere in the first few pages of the Observer that a TV channel is doing a documentary on some kids from the Northborough estate about deprivation, etc. One of the problems raised by one of the boys was something like 'it would be better if there was more things to do'

 

Like a sporting complex maybe?

 

Something which would help improve the area's image, develop the area, improve local sporting facilities (areas around the UK are suffering with schools, etc, selling off playing fields and the like) and give the local kids something to do instead of hang around in the street and cause trouble?

I shall write/e-mail in to the papers and the council soon now that I'm back from holiday. What do you reckon the chances of it being published are?

Slough Council should be taking note of the plight of the youngsters on this estate and what an opportunity they could be thowing away with their attitude towards not having a stadium that could developed and used for more than football and used all year round
