In an ideal world, i would like Councils to have a stake in all footie clubs so business men can't get involved in clubs in the hope of eventually making a packet by selling off grounds (look at what happened to Brighton!) Clubs would be run by the fans through Supporters Trusts.

 

But i'm not asking for council tax subsidy, a well run club with decent sports and bar facilities would bring in enough cash to run a succesful team. And because of that would be an important part of the community - i'm thinking of clubs like Lewes here who have transformed themselves over the past few seasons,withy youth/disabled/woman footie teams etc.
