Following on from JK's post sbout Dublin, anyone ever been to edinburgh? if so what's it like and can you recommend any good but cheap places to hang out?

 

But please, be gentle, remember I'm gonna be living there for the next THREE YEARS. Oh my God, that's so scary I feel like crying! hahaha! and I just found out the Halls I'm staying in are haunted!

 

And does anyone know if it's true about the homeless man called Edward who lives in the castle and will do a dance for you if you buy him a drink?

There's a homeless chap in Canterbury. Sits on a corner between the main pedestrianised road and an alleyway, wearing a stupid furry hat, a big overcoat, and those monster feet giant furry slippers kids get for Christmas from over-enthusiastic aunts. He sits on his chair with a keyboard accross his lap, selects one of the 'demo' tunes (the same one every time) then waves his hands in the air vaguely in time with the tune.

 

Scary chap.

OK homeless and lives in a Castle.??

Probably my most favourite city in the whole of the British Isles, and that INCLUDES London.

 

Bars and shops off Princess Street fantastic.

 

Don't jump when they fire the One O'clock gun at the castle.

 

High incident rate of AIDS, though. Comes close to Brighton for same gender s*x !

 

The people are fantastic !

 

As Claire said, check out the history ! It's steeped in it !
