St. Albans poster in our London office.

Recommended Posts

On our office notice board today was a poster for St.Albans, the poster read.

PLACES ARE LIMITED.

LLOYDS NON MARINE UNDER 30'S GROUP 3RD ANNUAL GOLF DAY COST £ 80.00

VENUE : VERULAM GOLF CLUB, ST.ALBANS.

THUR. 12TH AUG 04.

I was a bit surprised to see St.Albans in our office, we are based in Aldgate / city mile, no one who works in our small office lives there.

The word about St.Albans must be spreading.

Do any of you know, Edward Clark and the Verulum Golf club then? I reckon AFF must be a Golf player.

HiMark.

I'm a mere student of the game, Mark. I don't know Edward Clark. Verulam Golf Club, self-styled "Home of the Ryder Cup", not that it was ever played there but Samuel Ryder was El Capitano in 1910 or whenever he had the idea to arrange a match between Great Britain and the US of A. Nice enough track but not one of the top 20 in the County. Mind you, it's only £80.

Here's one for you, Mark. Minor drafting error in our matchday programme last night. Double page centre spread with a photograph of t'lads celebrating after the magnificent 5-4 drubbing of Bedford Town in the final play-off game last season. The banner headline was "Southern League, here we come!" I was looking for the 'Spot the deliberate mistake' competition but I couldn't find it.

You just can't get the staff, Mark. Either that or someone's rather strange sense of humour.

Good luck this season, Mark. Is George Borg still at the helm at Cressing Road?

Hi Zealadan.

I didn't think that any comments concerning The Mighty Saints and football should divert the attention from the curious realtionships, or not as the case may be, mutatis mutandis, without prejudice and subject to contract, between Claire [all skin and bones]H., and the various chaps in her life.

Just to confuse you all, I put a brief note of the football forum concerning last nights game.

Wizard wheeze in last night's programme, what?

Of course George is still here, tonight is the night he is talking to the Iron fans in a Meet the Gaffer nite.

In one way, you're half the woman you once were Claire, but in another, double!

[That's meant to be a compliment, Claire.]

Only just come on the saints forum today and am sure I will find Claire's huge news from last nite in a thread or two, going by AFF reply, I am guessing you have either announced you are half man, half woman and had the change. Or you are with Child and joining the St.Albans baby factory.

What they got in the bar at your place, you lot are announcing expected Babies more often than expected players.
