Folkestone is off - Official reason below

The pre season friendly due to be played at Folkestone Invicta on Tuesday 13th July 2004 has been cancelled.

Chris Kinnear said “ Talking with the players it has been decided that to formulate the squad for the new season it would be better to train for a longer period before playing competitive matches. In past seasons there have been many niggling injuries and in order to avoid these we will be training initially for a longer period, and then concentrating on several games in quick succession to build stamina, being the games

on the 3rd, 5th and 7th August. During the last week before the new season kicks off the squad will be taking things slightly easier back on

the training ground and not playing competitive games to give time for any knocks and niggles to heal.”

The Unofficial reason is that there are no pklayers!

Amazing that after all these years CK decides to change the pre-season routine. To be fair, I'm sure he feels embarrassed at having to put his name to that statement.

After fifteen or more years of being a successful Manger CK has now decided his tried and trusted pre season preparation has been wrong! what a load of bullsh*t.

Maybe yes/maybe no.

Anyone else maybe, but somehow think CK has a bit more honour and standards about him than most.

If it was not for the rest of the chaff going on around re: the club, i would actually think this is the correct decision from the players prospective.

I always felt too many friendlies were counterproductive
