STFC future ?

Haven't been so active on the forum the last month. When I heard from a friend that the future of the club was in danger AGAIN I was shocked but NOT suprised. This is not the first the "summer of hell" has hit my Rebel heart since I first started to support the club in the begining of the 90's.

A few questiones;

What will actually happends if the council says no and Mr Deaner leaves the club?

When is the date for council's decesion?

Is there something I can do from here? Do we have any banners which I can use on our website?

We had a have similair situation here . A local team called Öster (play in division 1) went nearly out of business. The council and a local bank saved them.

I remember the council wrote

- The club has given us so much publicity on the map so now it is time for us to show our thankfull.

I guess I have to hope for the swedish lottery again.

UP THE REBELS !

My understanding, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, is that if Deaner pulls out (which he may already have done), the council have to run the club for 6 months, after which they can do what they want (let it fold). The council cannot subsidise the club, so for those 6 months bills would have to be paid strictly out of assets and income.

From here on is mostly speculation---The Council have not made a decision yet, but BLLD group have made their minds up. The Conservatives have a stated "decide on its merits" stance.

Deaner has pulled out Because the newly elected Council Leader, Cllr Stokes has stated several times in the local papers that the feasibility study will not be going ahead.Cllr Stokes has executive powers, so Deaner has the right to consider the contract broken/negated whatever.

Stokes has jumped the gun,as if the Conservatives don't back him, he probably doesn't have the power to break the contract, which means he might be personally liable for the substantial costs of breaking the contract. Hence he suddenly wants to talk to Deaner.

Anything could happen in the next few weeks.Keep up the pressure, particularly on Conservative councillors as they are floating voters.

Yes and how about them , breaking that promise of helping us out in the event of ????

I think we would have to get a solicitor in tow !

This was minuted and I think they want to crawl out from this promise !

It was minuted.....so again another turn....in fact more turns than a rollercoaster...

My message to the billd group - Richard Stokes - and the coalition cabinet.

Come on ! look at the facts ! This project will be good for all...we must work together and we will get this right !!!!

Give Martin Deaner a full and Frank go ahead, maybe if you do ..... you might just save the day...saving a great project and our football club..

Don't use us to bash labour... use this a positive stepping stone to acheive what's need in the area without using public taxes.

Don't as you have said in the past...don't

use the football club as a political tool....

We are here to support our town !!

To those Britwell residents who have fears contact us direct and we will show you that your fears will be untrue....

cheers chris ..... Up the Rebels..
