Trust Board Supporters....Volunteers needed....

In response to Ian's question in the Car sticker thread, where he asks if it could be got going quickly - it was an idea which I hope people will think is a good one and worth pursuing. However I am wary of treading on the Trust Board Member's toes, but Chris S has so far welcomed offers of help.

So I wonder if the Board would like to have a volunteer's sub-committee of people with any special skills or interests or just prepared to do things, to try and help to make some of these things happen, but with a member of the Board having some involvement, especially where anything involves spending some money. Do we need a fighting fund, for example, to pay for some of these things?

I am sure it would be better if any activities are coordinated rather than we all go off on different tracks and lose concentration on the things that matter. Also, somebody needs to be aware of all the things that are on the go. We could have a series of activity threads on the Trust Forum, so that people know where to go to get things to do.

Do we have any other volunteers who are prepared to do things? I asked in another post if anybody was a member of any of the Fans Forums for Arsenal, Spurs etc who would be prepared to put up the post calling for help from fans who live in Slough, but there have been no takers yet, so if anybody could do that, it would be great - Chris S has approved that as an activity. If you can help, and are not one of the current Board, then let us know and with what you feel able to do.

I have posted a message based on your idea on the official Chelsea chat page and on their largest independent board. So far the only response has been a discussion about "The Office" . I will repost regularly hoping for a better response.

I'll be glad to be proved wrong but the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea etc. are so full of their own importance they fail to acknowledge anything other than their own existence.

The attitude of Premiership clubs and fans to even Nationwide league clubs is one of contempt so we stand no chance. It's one of the main reasons I now watch far more non-league football than league.

Guys, keep up the good work!

A single sub committee was formed on Wednesday night at the inaugral trust board meeting and that had been pre-empted almost. It was the sub-committee for the Junior Rebels which will contain Dom, Debbie and Russ, but this was something which was know about prior to the meeting.

Obviously any activities which will benefit from having a sub committee to promote the club, or help the club in any form, it needs to be investigated.

This weekend perhaps isn't the best time for me (spent all day ripping bits and pieces out of a new house) to look into this in detail, but I'll keep it on the list of things to do!

Myself and Debbie will continue to run the Junior Rebels next season and we will be introducing new and exciting things to try and top our very successful season last year.

Myself, Russ and Debbie will be running the kids events at the fun day. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
