All at ETFC must be proud of the way supporters rallied round and got the 'open space' up to Ryman B standard within a year/season. Without the support of those dedicated souls on a Sunday morning, and some who were allowed out in the week as well, then ETFC would not be in the comfortable position it is in now regarding our ground.

 

All right, it is not ours, but we need to think of it as ours because it is our home for the time being.

 

There is still work to finish off and there are still working parties each and every Sunday from 10.00am - 1.00pm.

 

Unfortunately, the number of people attending has dropped and there is an obvious reason for this. The majority of the work has been completed, the grading achieved and it is the close season with BBQs and holidays to fit in.

 

However, your time is still needed to finish off those 'bits' that were not necessary for the grading but are necessary for the benefit of the club.

 

If you do have some spare hours, then Roy and Frank would welcome you with open arms.

 

I am fairly sure that once the season starts up again, then Sunday morning attendances will pick up.

 

Looking forward to seeing you on Sundays(not tomorrow for me though because I am at a wedding! - not mine I hasten to add so I do not want any pressies) <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Did you all know that there is a supporter who works for 5 days a week in Southern Ireland and comes back at the weekend especially to join the working party on a Sunday?

 

I have been told that he comes home to see his family but slinks away from 9.00am - 2.00pm whilst dinner is being prepared.

 

What a star!

We were discussing yesterday the need to start and complete small projects which can be completed in say a couple of hours with 5 or 6 people.

 

Project 1

eg. Evening one. Dig out the grassed area between the JETS hanger and the supporters' hut.

Evening two. Fill it with concrete which will be prepared on the night.

 

Project 2

eg. Evening one. Dig out the grassed area in front of the supporters' hut.

Evening two. Fill it with concrete which will be prepared on the night.

 

I am sure that between now and October issues can be addressed by an evening project team. This will relieve Roy and Frank from having to be available throughout the week.
