Your right Ian the labour talked a lot but in the end did very little. What happend to the Sikh school they used to block one idea. Also we would have had talks with Janik if he had been a member of the ruling party.

Yes, we should be talking to whoever is in power, but I strongly suspect that some Councillors will be much more professional than others.

 

Cllr Stokes seems to fit firmly into the unprofessional category--just read that he has reported himself to the Standards Council for a breach of rules. Complete fruitcake, who may well finish us off before he departs howling at the moon.The optimistic note is that it is rumoured that even he doubts his own ability to do the job,so a change in Leadership may be on the cards.

Ian's point is quite right.

STFC have been negotiating with Slough Borough Council. In recent times, the council happens to have been populated by a majority of Labour councillors. However, over time the make up of the council will shift and change, and STFC will still negotiate with the 'current' Slough Borough Council - so this is not a case of STFC 'aligning itself' with any particular political party, simply a case of trying to get something done.

 

 

What also seems to be conveniently forgotten by the councillors (presumably it is not in their interest to remember) is that Slough Town Football Club has been part of Slough's history for over a century. Therefore, it should be in the Council's interest that a notable slice of Slough's history is currently under threat and needs positive action to save it. Unfortunately, it seems that the current crop of councillors are more interested in their '15 minutes of fame' to come to the aid of STFC.
