Pick-up the Phone & Call Me - Its Good to Talk

Given his penchant for trying to get pictured in every edition of both local papers I'm surprised Mr Janik refuses to allow his photo to be put on the website.

I note he also refuses to allow his address or telephone number to be listed, preferring instead the anonymity of contact via the Town Hall.

Ian writes "I note he also refuses to allow his address or telephone number to be listed,"

Paul replies "Try opening your eyes before looking"

I'm not running a business. I am an unpaid councillor receiving a very low allowance which does not cover all the costs I incur being a councillor. Is your home address available on the world-wide Internet for everyone to see? I notice about 4 or 5 other councillors also put the Town Hall as their address for postal correspondence.

How can you be speaking personally when you give your address as the town hall?. By so doing, you make all your statements officially and not personally.

1. I do not write on this forum as a spokesman for SBC.

2. I have expressed my opinions in this forum not orally but in writing.

3. The Town Hall address is the postal address for official correspondence.

4. I don't live in the Town Hall although there is some, now unused, living accommodation there.

By giving the Town Hall as your address, you are speaking as a councillor and not in a private capacity. If you were speaking in a private capacity, the reply address would be your home address.

Where do I show my address on this forum as the Town Hall?

Where do I indicate on this forum I am posting in an official capacity as a councillor?

Yes my Town Hall address is shown on the web - on the council's own web site and on my web own site BUT not in any of the posting I have made on this web site.

PS: I ain't speakin, I'm writin

Paul - If I have incorrectly assumed that the numbers listed are those for the Town Hall (a reasonable asumption since you don't put your home address) then I apologise. That still doesn't explain why you won't have your photo there though.

Any time you give your contact address as the council, you are acting as a councillor, darling.I can't be contacted at the Town Hall as I'm not a councillor. Private individuals can't be contacted at the Town Hall, so if you give a Town Hall number, you arn't a private individual.
Me?, I can be contacted down the pub, can't I darling.

OK, change Town Hall number to Town Hall adress.

If your contact number or address is the Town Hall, you are speaking, writing, phoning, texting or whatever in some sort of official capacity.Individuals with no official capacity can't use the Town Hall.

We had a few Janiks in my old school, they were either short and fat, or skinny with spec's. They were useless at sports could not play football, cricket, could not run, swim, jump, skip or hop. They were usually moniters or prefects and would hang arround the teachers at playtime They grew up to hate anyone who had any sort of sporting talent, and usually became politicians.

Although I wouldn't quite use the same words as Roger (as he does it so much better!) his comments are true of ALL the councillors.

At some stage every party (and a number of the councillors individually) have declared their support for Slough Town Football Club. To be honest, I'm fed up with hearing it, what I want to see is someone actually bloody doing something about it rather than just talking or saying how easy it is to resolve.

Until such times that it happens, I shall mistrust them all as using us for their own political purposes. And before anyone accuses of us of aligning ourselves with Labour, we didn't. We aligned ourselves with the ruling Council at the time which just happened to be Labour controlled. If the Conservatives had been in power and come up with the same suggestion, we'd have supported it through them.
