There are literally hundreds of websites and articles questioning Robbie Williams' sexuality. He's been living with a guy for years, Claire. Neither of them are hard-up... they don't need to house-share to save money.

 

If you try and do a search on the sexual ambiguity of other musician/rock-stars, like Liam Gallagher, the guys from Blue, Gareth Gates (to name three completely off the top of my head), the question simply doesn't arise.

 

The very fact that the same question comes up about Robbie all the time, is because of the geniune possibilities/probabilities about the subject.

 

The 80s New Romantic scene, which I assume is what you're referring to, was an entirely different kettle of fish. You're talking about an entire musical and fashion movement there.
