Where are you getting the posters done?

Still a couple of months to go Claire, but I was a little fearful you perhaps wouldn't get the support that the original 'frenzy' indicated.

You just have to look at the previous 2 or 3 Christmas Parties up in the clubhouse to see people just aren't interested in going to SACFC-run events.

And with a "Ladies Night", you've already excluded 50% of the population from attendance.

I know, i believe Hardings Minion is going to provide the posters as well as the remaining tickets.

Unfortunately, as we only have about a month and a half to go, and people say they want the tickets, but when offered them, they say they havn't got the cash, i fear we may not do as well as we had hoped. <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

The thing you have to learn about people is, when you suggest something to them some way in advance like "do you want to come to our Ladies Night", it's much easier for them to say 'yes' rather than 'no', even if they don't want to, because it's a long way in the future, and gives them time to make their excuses.

It's very different when coming to collect money from people, as they suddenly remember some reason why they can't go.

One thing, Claire, have you discussed your advertising campaign with James and Vicki?

I have a nasty feeling the lease on the ground may prohibit non-football related activities at the ground. Maybe AFF could advise on this.

I have no idea on the lease of the clubhouse - I would doubt it would be a problem, but it may be worth checking it before you start publicising it everywhere.

The other thing is, you have to ask yourself how many women would be interested in coming to this night were it free. I still think you'd struggle to fill the place, even then.

1. This is the 21st Century, and certainly most of the women I know would get no kicks out of watching a strange men girate his pelvis wearing nothing but a rubber band around the base of his tool.

2. People are not really interested in coming to a night at SACFC. Sad as it is to say, this has been proved in the past with other events that have gone on. The only event that has ever really captured the imagination is the occasional Quiz Night down there, and every team is very closely connected with the club. Only a small handful of 'outsiders'. The various 'end-of-season' and 'Christmas' parties have been nothing short of a disaster.

3. If you're doing a poster campaign, there will have to be somewhere they can pick up tickets. Even those people who show a passing interest in your posters, by the time they realise they have to go along to the football club, at a set time on a set day, and try and find a particular person (who they don't know) to buy tickets off, will soon lose interest in the event.
