Just read in The Advertiser that Billy Cove has left ETFC due to work commitments. Wish you good luck Billy wherever you go.

 

Make sure you take care of that "JETS" Player of the Season Trophy. Don't forget I'll need the Big Trophy back next April so keep in touch.

Just read thge shocking news in the Gazette. Shame to see you go Billy. A big loss to the club.

 

Another loss is the family and friends of Billy who turned up to watch the Town each game.

I am not worried about EFC, just the loss of Billy to ETFC. I do hope we have a new replacement?

Yes. He's called Daniel Clarke. Looks like a front-line of Smith and Clarke. Some cover up-front would be nice though.

 

It's a bit worrying that EFC are adding players to their squad (albiet ETFC rejects) .But losing Cove,Digby...etc. is not good news.I doubt Harvey will sign now.

 

The Ryman2 and the ESL may be equall in the pyamid, but not in the eyes of Non-league players OR the press. ETFC's squad to play in the ESL will be weeker than the one we would have produced for the Ryman2.

 

Luckily i feel we can still win the ESL with our current squad.

The ex ETFC players they have signed will not have come cheap. And there are going to be ego's and attitudes flying about.But they are good players.Let's just see how many finish the season with EFC.

Dave Allen (amounst others) has just given himself a 25 mile round trip to get to each home game. Hope they find that the Ryman2 is worth it.

But as he burnt his bridges with the Town,and what with Ilfords sponsor pulling out. I don't suppose he had many options left.

I believe ETFC have lost some big players this season and haven't and won't be able to replace them!!!

 

In my opinion most ESL team have got some valuable additions to there squad and you will see a vast improvement from most ESL teams

 

However and this is only my opinion ETFC will struggle due to the fact that they will stand still this season whilst other ESL teams will improve due to addtitions made during pre-season

 

I await to here all the ETFC disagree with me!!

Name the big name players you have lost?

Then name the players that you have replaced them with

It's a bit early to say, the players only reported back for training last week so no-one knows who is signing or who will be invited to sign!

 

What is more important, how "big name" a player is, (or thinks he is) or how good a player he is? (or indeed she)

 

Look at Euro 2004 for example.......

i do agree with you invis man just because you have a long big name it doesnt mean you will be good. look at mcmanaman!

 

joking apart, johnny rids and billy cove are two quality players and will need to be replaced by similar quality if you are to win the esl.

 

i believe it will be very close this year.

Yes, we will miss Rids - as we did last season when he was out for long spells through injury and work commitments. He's omne of those players who just make the team look right when they' re there! On the plus side it looks as though John Everitt is back.

 

We mised Dave Allen too but got used to it, and we should be getting Matty Negus back.

 

Up front I would favour Smith and Hall R.
