Season 2004/5.

Recommended Posts

Last season, we did Shoot for a Meal, Supporters compete against each other. As you boys seem up for a laugh, I am hoping when the fixtures come out you boys will be up for it.

Zealster / EFM participated and Urchin Boy (St.Albans / Hornchurch from the Non League forum)

This will be sent to you 3 weeks before we are due to meet you at Cressing Road, hope one of you boys will be up for it. Good fun.

Last season's post.

We at the Supporters Club are doing a Shoot for a meal, what happens is a BRAINTREE TN Supporter will be up against a SLOUGH Supporter. (it is free)

The Shoot for a meal event will be done on the pitch at Half Time in front of the fans.

We did this V 11 OTHER RYMAN LEAGUE CLUBS and both HOME AND AWAY supporters got behind their representative and it was great fun.

The prize is a meal for two, a Sunday Carvery at Mr H, which was Formerly, The Four Seasons. (This voucher is valid for up to 6 months.)

WHAT WE WOULD REQUIRE from any volunteer.

1. They represent their Club in a SLOUGH replica shirt.

2. They wear a pair of trainers, no football boots please, as the grounds man would not permit this.

If you are interested, we need to know as soon as possible, the latest being (not applicable yet)* as we will be sending a supporters club column to the Match Prog. Editor and we will mention both of the Supporters names and ages plus we also need to let the P.A person know for their commentary.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ENTER PLEASE TELEPHONE: 07739847552.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope you will come to Cressing Road on (Not applicable yet)04.

For more information please read the BTFC (New) official message board www.braintreetownfc.org.uk then click on Forum.

We will also be making a members draw, which unfortunately is only for BTFC members.

Plus (hopefully) our Match day Mascot Braintree Town Supporters Club is running this and this will all add to the afternoons entertainment off the pitch.

NEW THIS SEASON THE APPEARANCE OF OUR MASCOT : "BILLY THE BRAINTREE BULL."

Thank you, Mark.

We're also getting a similar mascot. It's called "Richard Stokes, new Leader of the Council, talks a load of bull"

Brilliant, hope we play you boys early on then (at our place.)

The Slough fan who goes for it, would be good if they could give us their logon name from here as well as there real name, for the prog. Both Zealster and Urchin Boy did this. If you got a photo we will put that in it too.

Thanks, Flag.

We could always dress Matty Miller up as a supporter and send him in as a ringer. Mind you, it involves scoring doesn't it and we want to win!

Seriously, what are we going to do, draw lots?!

How many of your boys do you reckon would make the trip from the West to North Essex?

Would you stand outside like the Canvey / Hornchurch / St.Albans boys and cheer on your lad, or will you all be in the bar?

Apart from 2 games I think, Andy the Groundsman let us do all the action down at the Club Bar end, if the goal mouth is bad there then we will be up the Qwag end. (Furthest end from your pint)

I would think there would be in the region of 100 of us travelling. Depending on when the game is it could vary. Can't see it being less than 60/70 but it could rise to about 150-200. Would say around 100 though as an average figure.

I would also think that a fair majority would stay out and have a laugh at the Slough rep!

How about the prospective wannabe's do a playoff during a home game prior to the trip to Braintree to decide a winner. I'll go in goal!

How are we supposed to score with your huge frame between the sticks?!!!

Good that you will stay and laugh or give encouragement to your lad / lass.

At Braintree If you take out our directors from the support we take away, the last 2 years (which have been 2 years of struggle) we have averaged about 30 away, obviously more for the Essex games, but if as expected we are up with the chasing pack then our away attendance will go up.

Your away support is very impressive, especially to North Essex. (200)

Well, we've taken about 150-200 to places like Staines, Egham and Met Police, which aren't that far away in comparison - and about 150 to Hemel the season before in a crunch game. Even with trips to Worthing, Lewes, etc, we took about 50-75ish. With the trip to Braintree I reckon about 100 will travel, as Gary said.
