Trophy and Cup draws

Tricky draw that - my favourites for next season's Ryman Prem. Got bundles of cash are are currently throwing it about a bit.

Make sure SG has 'em watched. Don't expect a walkover.

We're off to bloody Cheshunt!

Regards to one & all, EFM (Braintree chapter)

Laz, yes it was one of many sticks & stones thrown at Crusoe.

However the following has just been announced by them ...

The fiasco of the Isthmian League's administration goes on.

It now comes to light that the AGM was invalid as it was inquorate.

Their company rules (articles) state that 60% of the Full Members (Premier and Div One teams) must be present. Since there were 72 Full Members (last season's clubs) entitled to vote at the AGM, 44 were required to be present at the meeting to form a quorum. Only 33 were there. As a result the business transacted at the meeting was invalid and, in the eyes of the law, the meeting is treated as never having taken place. The lack of quorum was due to the statement by the Alliance that clubs which were leaving their league as a consequence of the restructuring did not need to attend the AGMs of such leagues. As the Isthmian League lost over 40 clubs as a result of the restructuring, attendance at its AGM was more profoundly affected than attendance at the AGM of other leagues. The significant shortfall in numbers was not expected and did not become apparent until the registers were checked on the day after the meeting.

The league must now have a valid AGM before the start of the season which will be on 26th July at the Gatwick Hilton. This will be in two parts - the 1st part for old clubs and the 2nd part for new clubs who don't officially become members until the old clubs vote them in.

Perhaps it's time for Braintree to ask to switch to the Southern League
