When I was 16, I bought the new album, on tape, by Julian Cope called Peggy Suicide. Listened to it a couple of times, and then put it away.

 

A couple of years later, I sold off all my tapes with the intention of re-buying them all again on CD. It took me about six years to find Boing! by Airhead on CD, and a further three years to find Lovegod by the Soup Dragons.

 

Anyway, I'd forgotten all about Peggy Suicide by Julian Cope until I spotted it on Ebay earlier this week.

 

I bought it for £3, and listening to it again this morning, for the first time in 13 years, it's actually bloody good.

Yes, I love the first track - Pristeen. Top stuff! I'd recommend Floored Genius Vol.1. It's a comp of his early singles and TearDrop Explodes stuff. It's got the classic "Sunspots" and "Jellypop Perky Jean" tracks on it - brilliant!

No, I have't - but the reviews on amazon make it sound good. Is it a must listen? Similiar to some of Mr Cope's stuff? Toomuch good music - not enough time or money!

Shriekback!! - I haven't heard of them for years! I got rid of a load of vinyal at the end of the eighties (I wish I hadn't now), but I used to love stuff like "My spine is the bass line", "All lined up", "Nemesis" and "Everything that rises must converge". I think I might have to check out a couple of CD albums.
