its interesting that slough are making changes the first eleven (ie. players in and out), but what about the youth...?

wud it be a gud idea to get hold of sum young players (17, 18, 19 etc.)and place them in the reserve team for time being,to allow them to get experience etc.

...what do you think...

I certainly hope that when the club has been able to settle in a place called home, the youth structure at the club for PASE or Allied Counties for U16 upwards will be put in place so that a regular stream of talented youngsters are coming through to progress into the reserve and first team at the club. It is the only way to survive these days with young players breaking into the team and being sold on.

Gary, what you say above is a very good argument in our favour for getting the council to assist STFC in finding a new home.

Whoever co-ordinates our protest could use the homeless issue to show the council that we can't provide youth and community facilities while playing in a neighbouring borough.

When we were at WP the football in the community scheme with Brian McDermott took hundreds of kids off the streets, sort of.

I definitely think it is the way forward and should be heavily pushed for once the whole ground situation is sorted out and we are secure back in Slough for the forseeable future. Promoting the local club to children and parents and eventually having a youth scheme for them to participate in and possibly end up playing for the club (to receive adulation like Hodgey, Daly & co) is something which could appeal to many youngsters.

In my view, it's definitely high up on the agenda, after the ground obviously.
