Kettering in for Brown

According to Anglia Teletext KTFC are one of several clubs talking to Derek Brown but they reckon they will sign him. Experienced, quality, just what they need etc.

'Kettering Town manager Kevin Wilson was today hopeful of bringing Derek Brown, the former St Albans centre-back and captain to Rockingham Road.

 

Twenty-nine year old Brown was out of contract last season and has been pursued by a number of clubs but Wilson is hopeful the deal will be completed over the next few days.

 

Wilson said today, "Derek is a solid centre-back who I have always admired. He will be a great signing for us. He has a wealth of experience behind him and will give us additional height and strength at the back. I am hoping to complete the deal within the next few days."'

Clearly wasn't one of the players waiting for Castle to sign and commit his future to the Saints before re-signing, then.
