Retro Saints Shirts

I made a post a few weeks back on the General Forum which was met with considerable apathy, suggesting the Club Shop commissioned a range of 'Retro' St Albans City shirts, maybe starting with the 1920's Championship winning shirts.

 

These items have become very popular with other clubs (see www.toffs.com) and I, for one, would be interested in buying a St Albans 1920's shirt.

 

Jeez, if it's goof enough for Dulwich Hamlet, surely we can do something along these lines. There are plenty of photos on the site to be able to design something that looks identical to the original.

Good idea, Zealster. How about the Wembley 99 shirt that you had. I reckon we could sell a few of those. I for one would like a Champs '28 one.

I imagine that there has to be a minimum number of shirts for each order, Zealster, but that could be overcome by having pictures available and taking advance oreders etc.

 

That chap what runs the club shop comes on here occasionally. Let's have a word.

A Champs '28, and Amateur Cup Semi '70 shirt would be a good place to start.

 

I notice the 1928 shirt did not have a crest on it. Think we may need a bit of artistic licence with that one.

To celebrate next seasons relegation we could have a load of Castle 37 shirts (as in 37th best manager for the saints, although it may of changed to 38/39 or 40 by then)

Then the following season when we end up in Southern East we could get some Castle 42 shirts made up!

2yr contract for the manager, this is just like signing Beckham it's all a shirt selling ploy!

I might get a "St Margaretsbury 3 St Albans City 0" t-shirt made up after our forthcoming defeat against the Spartan Minerva giants in the Herts Homo Cup.

I always thought a 'I saw Craig Mackail-Smith score a goal" shirt would have been a good idea. Bit ironic now though.

I most certainly do have my black Legend T-shirt, Rob. Pride of place in the study at AFF Towers with the "Behind every great goalkeeper...." autographed Steve Clark christmas card closeby.

 

Fine goal-scoring machine though the lad may yet turn out to be, I can't quite see Neil Gough reaching Legend status at Clarence Park.
