Oasis, Glastonbury

Anybody got BBC 3 and see Oasis' performance from Glastonbury? In Wednesday's NME it said Noel had backtracked and would play two new songs in the set. Just wondered if anybody had heard them and whether they were any good.

Just seen the coverage on BBC 2 but it's just highlights and of the 6 songs shown it was all old material.

Have to admit the band sound better than ever. Of the songs shown Live Forever was brilliant, My Generation sounded great with Liam brilliant on vocals and Champagne Supernova was just awesome (was it just me, but detected a Strawberry Fields Forever feel about this paricular version)

Zak Starkey looked impressive on drums. Hope they announce some more live dates soon because they looked bloody impressive!!

When i was watching some of it they said they couldn't show any of the new material on tv for piracy reasons, but Oasis were playing it still. Anyway, they sounded good..but it showed how much better albums like Definitely Maybe and Whats the story are than the newer stuff...

Hmm so they did play some of the new stuff. I'll have to scout around the internet for bootlegs!!

Yeah they played Wonderwall, Rock N Roll Star and Supersonic later in the programme. Agree that Liam sounded a bit out of tune on Wonderwall. Perhaps the beer hadn't kicked in!!

Surprised you like the Zuton's Thornsy. Thought they'd be a bit too Scouse/60's for you.

Have you heard the Muse album? It's superb and I would definitely say they were headliner quality.

As for Oasis, I still stand by their last album, but Noel's lost it for a long time, and Liam's songs were the best ones on it. I hadn't heard a decent review of their Glasto performance. Noel hasn't written a decent song for ages (Stop Crying Your Heart Out was great, but only because it's Slide Away re-written). They booted out their drummer. Now they've booted out their producers. Let Liam write the new album.
