Without wishing to curb your enthusiasm, GHA, the SACFC season ticket includes the cost of entry to all Cup games [not that the STH's did terribly well there last season] which is most unusual, as well as admission to the big PSF's against Watford Reserves and the XIs from Millwall, Charlton, Barnet and Luton [that's 5 x £10 = £50]

Are you talking to me JKiF? If so, a], have you had a bad week?

And, b], I was simply making the point that a comparison of the cost of a season ticket at the Mighty Saints with other clubs should take account of admission to cup games and PSF's. I doubt whether any other club allows entry to cup games in this fashion.

If not, disregard this post.

So admission prices to the HUGE MASSIVE MAMMOTH COLOSSAL pre-season friendlies is going to be £10?

Hypothetically speaking, let's say that one attends every home league match next season. That's 21 games, £8 each. A total of £168. The the BIG FIVE friendlies. Another £50, a total of £218. Three cup matches, £24.

A total of £242. So with a season ticket you save £42, but the friendlies are mostly a waste of time, and not many season ticket holders will see every single home game, plus all the friendlies and maybe three cup games, will they? Many are probably better off not buying a Season Ticket at all.

Considering Season Tickets are one of the big boosts regarding income at the start of the season, it's a worry how little value for money they appear to be (to me at least).

Hi GHA.

I recall a message from Rob the Saint to the effect that admission to the PSF's will be £10. No, they are not my personal bag, either. My own view is that a Non League club should go for a single big name money-spinner together with a couple of matches to test t'lads, but what do I know about it?

You're forecasting 3 cup matches at t'Park, GHA. That's the most positive comment you have made.

Value for money? Well the powers that be must be happy with response over the past couple of years otherwise they would have made changes.

Me? I'll get one and one for the little 'un, primarily to ensure no suspicion of being a [wait for the blast from the past] freeloader.

I was being most lenient with three cup matches. Maybe an easy first round, a loss in the second round, and another replay against someone.

I also saw Newport County are on course to break last season's total of 220 season ticket sales.

220? Just imagine!

Too young to sit down, JKiF.

Mind you, last season you only had to pay to sit in the main stand if you entered it from the York Road end for some reason. I could never quite work out why they dispensed with the services of a £1.50 Admission To The Main Stand Executive at the Hatfield Road end.

I would have been sorely tempted to walk around through the Cola stand and enter the Main Stand beside the boardroom, but then the multi-million dollar deals what I do in my day job require a degree of enterprise and I can't be bothered taking that to the Park on a Saturday just to save £1.50.

Whatever happened to the freeloaders, by the way?

look at it as a bit of xtra to the club u support along with the thousands you spend behind the bar....do you honestly think i believe its a value for money option?

football supporters being ripped off.....mm..
