Owen scored a bloody class goal,nice one mate,prove those people that say your sh*t wrong. Rooney getting injured didn't really help but the problem was in midfield,what did Gerrard,Beckham and Scholes do tonight?Although Lampard got a goal he was bl**dy quiet aswell.It's the same throughout the tournament,they needed to hold onto the ball a bit instead of just punting it at the two short geezers up front.Also they needed to get into the portugese,they gave them so much time on the ball!What was bringing Phil Neville on all about?I thought that was just for when we wanted to take the p*ss?I know they needed some extra defence but surely somebody like Carragher or Hargreaves would have been much better?

Have to agree about the appalling refereeing decision to disallow Campbell's 'goal' but in all honesty we were annihilated in the middle of the park. Felt sorry for Lampard who I felt did ok but Gerrard just looked knackered from the outset. The other two clowns are past their sell by and it's about time someone said so. Beckham has looked lifeless in all four games and was directly responsible for giving the ball away which led to Postiga's goal. Maybe he should decide whether he wants to continue playing football or playing sidekick to that utterly talentless wife of his.

i know we were under the cosh, but put the shoe on the other foot. If we were 1-0 down after 3 mins you'd expect us to batter the oppersision goal, we held firm because they had more to play for. When it went 1-1 we were all over them again

It was lost when P.Nevelle and Hargreaves came on, stupid subs. If it was 2-0 fair enough but the prospect of playing extra time with a Beckham, P.Neville, Hragreves and Lampard midfiled wasn't gonna win anything

beckhams laughable defending leading up to the cross was amusing.. almost as amusing as the photographs in the mail of their first goal showing campbell doing two mans jobs whilst terry has wandered off to get a better view of the goal.. we were crap.. i can handle us being crap as we often are but still battle through but this tiem we were crap and alos terrible to watch.. the football we play or the tactics or whatever they are are sooo fking boring

Aparently the goal was disalowed not because Sol fowled the goalkeeper or a fowl was made against the gaolkeeper, but because Terry had fowled one of the defence, way before there was a chance at goal.

 

A very emotional game last night. It is not fare. The [****!!****] must have been paid off for giving dodgy discisions, and poor Wayne. That portugeese git must have really trod down on his foot to take his boot off. I reckon that was their plan as well. To do what ever they could to get Wayne off the pitch.

 

And yes, what was Beckham's [****!!****] penalty about?!!!!!!! 2 he has missed in this competition now!!!!!!!!

Neither player impeded the keeper, the goal should have stood, the ref copped out because either he didn't want Portugal out, or someone's just bought him a villa on the Algarve.

 

I say we put an embargo on all things swiss, no more Toblerone, get rid of the Swatch, ban Fondue!

This tired arguments a load of old b@llocks, Ashley Cole ran his heart out last night, has he not been a bit busy this season. Cristiano 'goes down like a bag of sh1t' Ronaldo didn't seem to stop running.

 

Yet Beckham, what did he do? Was he an attacking midfielder? No he didn't beat a single player, was he a defensive midfielder? I counted 1 tackle, he was not a worthy captain and has been a let down this tournament.

Campbell's goal was disallowed for a push before the FIRST header (which hit the bar). Look at the replay and the whistle goes before he heads it.

I know our performance was not great, but when it boils down to it Portugal won on sudden death penalties, it really is a lottery, the winner can count themself lucky, but the loser can feel cheated.

 

Let's be honest about the ref too, even if we take the disallowed goal in to account, the standard was very poor and whilst I sound bitter and biased saying it, I think they certainly favoured the Portuguese. I also have to say it was great to see the fightback in extra time and Fat Frank did superbly for the goal.
