Two small points, herts blue.

a]. "The Rugby Club bar, right next to the football ground"? Would that be an Official bar of Carlisle F.C., named in jest 'The Rugby Club', or would it be the bar of Carlisle R.F.C., which is nothing whatsoever to do with Carlisle F.C. other than geographically?

b]. August 14th 2004 is an historical day in the annals of The Mighty Saints, hb. Our first match in the inaugural Conference [south]. Football fever grips the City. Bunting in every window. Displays of scarves, shirts and team photographs in every third shop window. Yellow and blue balloons on every lamp-post and bus-stop.

How can we be expected to pull in another 2194 fans each week to take the average to the readily achievable target of 2500 when true blue, die-hard, regular as clockwork, yeller&blue blood in their veins, fans like what you are, can be distracted by a meaningless match taking place 350 miles away?

a) it's the latter, but they welcome football fans in on match days.

B) I'm just surprised it took half an hour to post :-). It's an historic day at both ends of the country. What to do, eh? I'm not sure yet. But as someone who watched the blues play their way to the top of the top flight 30 years (to within 11 days anyway) earlier, I'd hope you'd at least appreciate the dilemma.

May well be there. If so, I'll buy you a drink. Best place is the Rugby Club bar, right next to the football ground.

Hi YA.

"Think it a bit unfair that your boys have to come to us on Good Friday"??

Eh?? "Your boys"? US?? Coming to the Island on Good Friday?? WHAT??

Have I missed something in all the excitement of Euro 2004? Henmania sweeping Britain?

I have been busy in my day job over the last few weeks admittedly but if The Mighty Saints had been promoted to The Conference Nationale to replace some club who couldn't make the trips for whatever reason, I would have thought I should have heard.

Good luck next season YA. Dream draw for the opening day, what!
