Ilford out of order

In last weeks Recorder there was an ad by Ilford for new players. It contained a phrase that said something like "Newley promoted to the Ryman Lge"

 

How many more times, it's level five therefore a sideways step not a promotion. Although I don't suppose any malice was intended it is a bit of an insult to the ESL to keep refering to it as a promotion!

 

Mr Chair.......any thoughts?

Don't worry too much Boroman. Next season when Ryman 2 disappears they will be promoted into the ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE if they don't achieve a promotion place.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was another Recorder [****!!****]-up. Whilst the Romford Recorder is probably the best around for non-league coverage, the Ilford Recorder is probably as much of a contrast as you can get. The number of times they couldn't be bothered to cross the road (literally) to watch a match!

If it's of any interest I believe that the Ilford tactics at home next season will be to play the ball backwards and forwards across the pitch in keeping with their "promotion".

 

Wont get them many goals but the penalty areas will be as perfect at the end of the season as they were at the beginning.

I see that today's Romford/Ilford Recorder still has an advert for Ilford looking for players further to their "promotion" to the Ryman League.

 

You can't blame the editorial department at the newspaper for getting it wrong because, as it's an advert, Ilford would have supplied the wording themselves.

 

Now who would like to lay a complaint against Ilford FC for misrepresentation?

 

Or shall we all just laugh ironically at them because they are showing themselves up in such a poor light!

Why dont you guys stop moaning about wording in newspapers and start trying to find some players capable of finishing in the top two of the Essex Senior league. Its clubs with ambition like Ilford that are going places and why others are going to go stale in the esl. Although it is a sideways movement it is a promotion for the club in terms of funding etc and most clubs currently in the esl would rather be in ryman 2. (Never mind Enfield!!!)

I would have thought a club with AMBITION like Ilford would have made some attempt to upgrade their groung to Ryman1 standard last year...ETFC made a monumental effort to meet RYMAN ctiteria.

 

But maybe 'networking' with Ryman officials after the season ended, would have been more beneficial to ETFC. <img src="/images/graemlins/achso.gif" alt="" />

Just to set the record straight....Ambition (or lack of it),grading, league position..etc.. had no influence on who was accepted by the Ryman board.

Enfield finished 4th

Was it not the nataural choice for the ryman officials to take the stronger team? I can imagine the football league sides saying you've got more fans bit a by far weaker playing side we will take you!!!

The league speaks for itself the fa has confirmed it was on league status so these conspiracy theories are stupid.

I hope that a big club like Enfield do well next season and deservedly get into the ryman setup. I have no doubt that they will do so.
