The letter in the observer today from L gregory !!

 

So many wrong facts ! Little knowledge is dangerous....

 

Wexham Park is a can of worms and they think we can just move back there !! on who's land and who's terms ???

 

and are the new council going to take responsiblity for our Towns team ? funding from the public purse if Martin walks away ???

 

Are they aware that if Martin Walks away , they have a resposiblity to help STFC ? to get a new owner or funding ??? a new ground....well according to my information that has been agreed or are they going to renegnade on that too ! all weeks after taking office ???

 

Remember this club is a part of Slough since 1890 surely we are a big part of the social welfare of this town and also provides on occasions cup ties and matches with attendences well over 5000...yes a few years ago, but a sleeping giant....

 

and how many football lovers (who don't support us but like football ) many thousends.....just look at all those flags flying around the town when England was involved ??

 

Or is it that the new Slough Council is missing the fact that the country is footbal crazy and their are the only ones who don't want anything to do with the club that respresents them up and down the country ????

 

Time to help...??? if you don't want us in Britwell where do you want us to go ???

and how about some funding too.....????

L Gregory's letter in the observer riled me too, as did the letter from J Gregory in the Slough Express. I've sent letters to both publications in response, though given I'm not a Slough resident I don't expect either to get published.

Like the one from J.Gregory in the Express (I assume they're related) it just goes to show how little people really know about this. Like Chris said, so many factual errors.

I can't remeber which paper it was in but it made me laugh when a letter compared us to Loftus Road. What planet do these people live on?

It also annoys me when people say we have a perfectly usable ground in Wexham.

Could the papers properly investigate the situation and run a true story putting everyone straight on the whole issue.

I too have written to the paper now but as BFR says I don't expect it to be published because I live outside the borough.

It's just a joke how much people actually don't know about the stadium plans or our situation with Wexham Park, and misconceptions about the size of the crowds we get - to compare us with QPR is laughable. I too plan to write in when I get the chance.

Dedworth Rebel - a way round that is to email the letters to the editor. Seeing as I'm still outside Slough (until I move in a couple of months) it will be the way I contact the press

Did you point out to Mr(s) Gregory that your name does not usually change to Ian Latham in the course of a letter?

I decided not to stoop to their illiterate level (which I believe was done on purpose) as they also renamed Ted as someone pointed out.
