Janik

After reading what Janik said in the papers i suspect this is a case of sour grapes. The council is run by a Cabinet of 7 councilors, witch with the present setup would meen that the seats will be something like this. There would be 2 Cons,2 L/Dems, 1 Ind from Wexham 1 Lib from Hamill and 1 Ind from Britwell. I think that when it came to selecting who would be the one from Britwell Janik did not get it hence his vitriolic attack on the other Councilors.

Roger,

No vitriolic attack on anyone. Commissioners have been expanded from 7 to 9 with no overall increase in costs because Commissioner allowances have been reduced.

On the day election results were announced I merely decided not to rejoin the BILLD for the time being. If you have any idea of what social problems exist in the borough you would understand my decision. If you want first hand experience of some of the problems people are suffering from you are welcome to join me visiting residents and seeing for yourself the dismal conditions some people live in. I can send you a photograph (Janik620) taken this very week about unhealthy mold on a tenants ceiling in the room where a one year old baby sleeps.

Last year I repeatedly offered to work with STFC supporters to try to get the club back at Wexham Park. However no one at all responded apart from Paul Kirkpatrick who sent a harassing text message to my mobile phone.

Your collective mistake was selling your soul to the local Labour Party instead of being completely non-political. Despite non-Labour councillors like me being keen to help you collectively get back to Wexham Park you collectively found Labour much more appealing and, allowing yourselves to be seduced by Labour's promises, ignored everyone else.

Paul,

With reference to your comments about us 'selling our soul to the local Labour Parrty', would it not have been that they were willing to try and help us move forward rather than sideways that we continued to talk and move things forward with them? The Kennedy Park project would have a lot of positives for everyone in Britwell as I think the feasibility study will show and the only way of getting this through private investment is to have a football stadium as part of the deal on Slough Estates brown field ground.

Wexham Park is the past, and if you had any idea of the past trouble surrounding Wexham Park and why it would not be the preferred option for the long term future of STFC, you might understand the option presented to us by the council was much more appealing, and still is.

In top league football, there are a group of fans called ABU's which stands for Anyone But United in reference to the biggest team in the country, Manchester United. I suggest that you, in the political world are ABL, Anything But Labour. I wonder if it was any other party who had put this plan in place for us if you would have the same issues with it. Personally, I don't think so...

Rather than taking a picture, why didn't you advise them to buy Dettox Mould and Mildew Remover (£1.99 from all good hardware stores). Its what everyone else does. And it works.

The mold has been there for 3 years and existed before the tenant moved in. The photo is on http://www.slough.info/stfc/janik620.jpg

The tenant has tried herself to kill the fungus herself using many different methods but without success. Her Health Visitor says it is the worse she has seen. I think it is due to water leaking through the roof. Taking pictures means I can sent the evidence to the council by email and hopefully reduce the delay in responding to the genuine problem.

Gary,

Can you give me contact numbers for Thorne and a plan or sketch of Wexham Park showing the layout ? Any other helpful information appreciated.

My contact details are http://www.slough.info/s15/200406/200406br.html

No guarantee of success but I would like to try in the next few weeks to discover what is possible.

Paul.

Paul, I would suggest going through Mayfair Communications of Wexham Park (the existing site) for contact numbers for the Thornes. It's not something which is widely available (direct contact numbers) and they may also be able to assist your other enquiries.

It's nice to see you are still watching Mr Janik, After reading your reply i still do not believe you,im sure your nose was put out of joint when tou did not get a Commissioners job.

You say there are now 9 Commissioners instead of 7 but with no increase, i suspect this is just a temporary measure and will increased as soon as the dust settles, anyway it means we have 9 snouts in the trough now.

You say your decision not to rejoin BILLD was so that you could Concentrate on your constituency work, any councilor worth is salt does this work. You think that you are the only one with a social conscience.

As for you helping us getting back to Wexham Park this is not viable with the Thornes still owning the freehold, and i dout, in fact i am sure the Thornes would not even actknowlege your excitance.

Your final point we worked with the Labour Party because they were the party in power.now we have a Liberal lead Council im sure we will talk to them. I am sorry to say that most of the feed back coming from these when in oppositionon was negative.

Er, em ...... Roger ......... Sorry if you can not understand my words. I did try to write in simple English. I will try again ....

I did not rejoin the BILLD. I took that decision on the day I was formerly elected by declining to sign a membership form that others signed without a second thought.

Only those in the BILLD and Conservative groups were considered by those groups for Commissioner jobs. As I was not in either group I was not considered for a Commissioner job.

Let the council know and Interserve will be sent to sort it out---they operate a routine maintainance and response service.

Various public sector officials have been telling SBC for more than a year about the problem. The tenant has received several visits from the council's contractors. Regrettably telling the council does not always result in appropriate action.

Operating "a routine maintainance and response service" does not mean things get done. There are fundamental problems adversely affecting the council and some of its responsibilities.

To be fair, that was one post by Gary, and under the circumstances, why not. This thread on mould has nowt to do with football or Slough's fans and was threatening to escalate into a full-on fungal debate.
