From that august journal, 'Bedford on Sunday':

'Rydeheard joins Eagles exodus

NICK Platnauer is becoming increasingly resigned to having to create virtually a new first team before the league season starts.

The latest blow to the Eagles boss is midfielder Craig Rydeheard's decision to join St Albans.

Platnauer said: "I made Craig a good offer and did all I could to keep him. Yes I am disappointed."

Darren Sarll who missed just one of the 46 Ryman League matches last season, and that due to suspension, is also likely to move to Clarence Park and the irony is not lost on Nick Platnauer. "

"St Albans beat us in the play off to secure Conference football and now they are signing our players.

"Players are ambitious to play at a higher level and that is the harsh reality of the situation in which we find ourselves. They made it and we didn't."

It also seems likely that striker Chris Dillon will turn down Platnauer's offer and move from the New Eyrie which means that over half of the first choice starting line-up for the fateful St. Albans match on May 8 will not be available when the Eagles start their Southern League Premier season on August 14.

"We are competing with Hayes, St Albans and Bishop's Stortford at the moment to keep others at the club so further departures cannot be ruled out." '

Not sure about Sarlly!? But Craig Rydeheard is a hardworking midfielder, who can pass the ball about well.

Palomino...The only reason they failed to get their team promoted, was because Steve Watts and Miguel De Who were on your team! You beat us!!! Surely you remember the 8th May 2004?
