Unfortunatley, the USA as the only superpower is always going to be hated and seen as a repressor.

 

However, it is the job of the Bush and his boys to manage this perception and unfortunately all they have done is confirm the world's perception of the US and justify the hatred.

 

To compound this they have been totally incompetent. Does anyone really believe that Clinton would have ignored all that intelligence and allowed it to come to this - 9/11, Afghanistan and Iraq? I don't think so, he may have had his faults but he kept a tight ship.

 

If the US is to redeem itself at all it needs to firstly hand over Iraq to the UN, agree to pay all UN peace-keeping costs and to declare that no US companies should profit from contracts arising out of the unjust war which the US government initiated.

 

It then needes to look seriously at its Middle Eastern policy, and to stand up to Israel.

 

An interesting point I noticed while in New York recently, was the number of Arabic immigrants. It'll be interesting to see if policy shifts when they and their children become voters, or whether the rich Jewish lobby can maintain the status quo.

The US has to support Israel seeing they are the Country that was instrumental in the first settlements(Britain was strongly against them!), and the Birth of Israel as a Country!

The US supports Israel because of powerful Jewish lobbies on the East Coast.

I agree. It is about time that the US and the rest of the UN put pressure on Israel to abide by UN decisions and start demonstrating that it is a civilised country and stops abusing human rights and borders.

But, as you mentioned earlier on this thread, there are now many Arabic people living in New York. Indeed, I read a report recently in the Herald-Tribune which described the arrangements New York Muslim taxi drivers have made so that they can keep to their prayer times. There are certainly more Jewish politicians than Muslim politicians on the East Coast, but the difference in the number of voters must be narrowing.

It also formulates strategies, frameworks and guidelines and has generated more acronyms than anyone else in history.

I saw on the late news last night, 3 Greek (/) civilians being lined up with the usual standard 3 hooded basta*ds standing behind them.

 

Apparently, 72 hours have been set before the knife comes out again.

 

I am not going on - It makes me SO annoyed.

 

Just leave it to say, it proves that all those pinko poofter 'don't lets go to war/ anti Bush' brigade should now be sent out to the middle East to do ALL the civilian work ! Maybe then they'll realise what it was all about in the first place.
