Kids can be cruel when it comes to names. I have a fairly normal name (Graham Taylor) but due to events conspiring against me I had a gimp sharing my name in charge of the nation's football team, playing supreme talent like Carlton Palmer and Geoff Thomas, whilst I was at school. Wonderful.

 

Mind you, the world is going stupid for silly names. Paltrow and Coldplay boy name their child Apple, the name Rainbow is becoming ever popular as is the American way of having surnames as Christian names - see Taylor for example. How much longer before kids are called Twig or Vassell???

My friend named her kid Taylor, and as i've said, there's a kid in Markyate called Twiggy.

 

My boss's wife's sister just popped out a kid the other day and she called her Willow, after a tree.

 

Now the names i have chosen for my little ones are nice, and pretty names, Joshua and Evelyn. Have always liked these names. They are what babies should be called. not Apple, Orange or Luton!!!!

I used to work as an engraver during my university summers, and was quite regularly faced with silly names. The one that sticks in my mind from the point of view of bad parenting was a girl called Virginia Trebilcock - the small minded boys at her school must have loved that!
