Ken from Pimlico

Zeal - I forgot to tell you that 'Ken from Pimlico' got his 4th message broadcast yesterday. He got a bit excited during the Switzerland Croatia game and texted in with something along the lines of.

 

'I think that Swiss player shouldn't have been red carded, perhaps an orange card would have been more in order. Ken from Pimlico.'

 

Almost as soon as 'Ken' had texted in this piece of nonsense did we hear (on channel 701)

 

"we have a text here from Ken in Pimlico, he's suggesting using orange cards as a warning between yellow and reds, what do you think of that Steve? (as in Steve Claridge)"

 

"That's nonsense"

 

They then proceeded to discuss the possibility of Orange cards for the next 2 minutes, causing us much hilarity.

 

For those of you who missed Ken's ealier comments (all of which were broadcast, and at least one of which was discussed) here they are in full

 

"Silver balls and Black goalmouths?, it's just like they're playing on Mars!"

 

"If Valeron had been on from the start of the game, he'd have scored 70 by now!"

 

"My dog could have scored that last Croatia chance, and he's been dead for 15 years"

 

Unfortunately Ken's first comment 'I think Ronaldo has such a stupid haircut that he should be forced to wear a hat' Wasn't broadcast because Ken forgot to sign it!

Neither unfortunately, though Ken is intending to be back for tomorrow's Germany Holland game.

 

The only annoying thing is having to listen to the 'anaylsis' channel if you want to get the real amusement of hearing Steve Claridge and a B-list BBC reporter commenting on the kind of nonsense we've been sending in.

How poor was Booby Robson on ITV last night? I guess maybe you didn't hear too much in the Crown, but he hardly managed any comments on the game, and when he did they were incredibly cliched, I never thought I'd miss Big Ron!
