Live in the same town for 25-30 years and never once arrange to meet each other down the pub, yet when they find they're going to be in the same place abroad, and they arrange to meet up for some beer.

It's weird. There are twats here I see every day at work who I don't even give the time of day to, let alone acknowledge, yet if I bump into them up town, you stand and chat awkwardly for ten minutes!!
