F.A. Cup run 1925-26

Thanks to Malcolm for the link to the history of all non-league teams database. But precisely who did the mighty Royalists play in the later qualifying rounds before the glorious exit 2-4 at The Valley in the 25-26 F.A. Cup? I was too young to go and details are not listed on the website due to copyright reasons. Did Sid go? Was there a coach?

I always said I was never gonna leave a message on this new site, but your email tempted me! As you all know I am currently writing up our entire history, and your notes here are quite apt because I have just finished writing up a complete section on that particular cup run and the Charlton game in particular!

 

So who did we play, well as I have every single result in our history at my fingertips I can reveal that the cup run was as follows:

 

Henley Town Prelim Won 18-0!!

Reading BWI 1st Q Won 3-0

Uxbridge 2nd Q Won 4-0

Botwell Mission (now Hayes) 3rd Q Won 5-3

Chesham United 4th Q Won 2-1

and of course Charlton 1st RP Lost 2-4

 

But thats all your getting the rest you'll have to wait for the book! Although if you ask me discreetly I'm sure I can reveal some secrets to you!

 

Other than to say I'm still on the look out for stories from the old days! The book overall is coming along very nicely, I think you'll find some great stories in there! Although we're still a long way from completion, but we're well ahead of target!
