Mike swift has said that his bet would be Eastleigh to win with slough close second.

I think this is a fair placement if we only loose booty!

No disrespect intended, i assure you.

Why would Slough be tipped to finnish so highly?

Has something major happened?

Don't get me wrong, I think you will do very well but top 2, although it hurts me to say it, Ricay would probably be fav's in my humble opinion, god that hurt, but do you the Slough fans think you can overtake ALL the teams that made up last years Ryman Premier plus Yeading. Or is this just the opinion of Mr Swift. (Taking Braintree out of the equation as I would obviously be slightly bias)

Please don't take my question the wrong way, just asking.

Fair play Mark,

I believe we will do well next season, but top two may be a little optimistic. If we keep the heart of last seasons squad and bring in some fresh blood i think we have a good chance of finishing as high as 5th, maybe higher?!?!

But as many have said before, this league is so hard to judge!

No offence taken Mark. I think we all hope for a high a finish as possible. Given our current situation, I will be happy with a top half finish so we can build for next year whilst stabilising our own future.

I think Yeading and more so Lewes proved that the feeder leagues to the Premier were strong last season and many of the 'promoted' teams I think are on a par or better than many of the sides from the Ryman Premier but looking forward to it especially if we don't lose any more of our senior players anywhere, we could well be a force to be reckoned with next season.

Billericay could all well depend on how quickly they settle. Look at Grays first season as full time, took them a long time to settle down before pulling it together. May well be the same with Billericay, only time will tell I guess...

in the period January to to may 2004 Slough's record was

p 24 w 17 d 3 L 4 pts 54, which is the equivalent of 103.5 league points in a full leaugue season. (lewes ended with 94 as champions) We also beat Lewes who are now in Conference south. IF and it is a big if we can keep most of the existing team, and maybe strengthen it a bit I can see no reason why we cannot continue the good form of last season, and challenge for promotion.

When I looked at the new set up my gut reaction was that I would be happy with a top 10 finish. Based on the squad I thought we were likely to have.

If Hodges re-signs and if Matty can find the goalscoring touch I would hope that come the end of the season we would be outsiders for a play-off place.

The difficulty is that I know very little about any of the teams in the league. It has been a very long time since we played some (Dover for example) and I have no idea what to expect. The best time to ask the question is when we have played everyone once. But by that time the league table will be impacting on expectations.

...especially considering this last year, when we played Egham Town twice during the last ten games of the season!

We should be getting a good idea of how the various teams shape up by mid-October/November. (Although this will not allow for radical shifts in form, such as that shown by Dulwich, Windsor and Slough!)
