Sent to Advertiser in response to the letter from the Clown in Basildon.

 

I would like the opportunity to reply the totally inaccurate and ill informed letter your newspaper published 10/june/2004 from Bill Champion headed 'We Don't want a team of Losers'.

 

Last Season saw the re-structuring of non-league football and as a result there was no relegation from the Premier Division of the Ryman League. Billericay Town will again play in the Ryman Premier Division next Season.

 

There is a great deal of activity both on and off the field at the moment. The Clubhouse is being refurbished / extended which will give us 'A New Board Room, Office, Laundry Room, Kitchen. The extension will give us a second Bar / function Room.

 

On the playing side we are moving to full-time next season and many of last years players have already signed contracts. At a recent trial over 50 players applied from afar a field as Yeovil, Leicester, Northampton, Wales and France. In addition to the senior team, next season we will have under 16 and under 18 sides playing in the Junior Alliance, 17 Youth team playing in Local leagues and the Ladies Team (who are current Essex County Cup Holders).

 

Our new Chairman 'Steve Kent' has generated a great deal of optimum, enthusiasm and enjoyment at New Lodge, I don't know what Mr Champion's definition of 'Losers' is, but it is definitely not Billericay Town Football Club and all those associated with it.

I think that article is a direct insult to individuals. " A bunch of losers"

 

Who is this bunch, are you a loser Bluesy?

 

Is each and every one of our supporter’s losers?

 

Are the devoted bands of volunteer’s, which work tirelessly for our club, which means they work for the benifit of others? Losers

 

Are our Management team losers?

 

The footballer who has a family, a job, and still manages to play football, a game that he loves, at a high standard, and get paid for it, is he a looser?

 

I wonder what Mr Champion does with his life that gives him the right to call hundreds and hundreds of people, people he knows fuk all about, LOSERS.

 

And as for the YA allowing sh1t like that to be published, it makes me wonder what their agenda is.

the yellow advertiser has always been anti billericay. It ran a campaign agianst the gloucester park development, which is fair enough, but some of the crap it printed in its joke of a paper was laughable. As for Mr Chumpion, you already have a team of "losers", basildon united

The Yellow Advertiser seemed to be running an anti-Hornchurch thing last year too....so perhaps they are just against local non-league sides in general.

 

Wonder if they have ties with Essex land developers?

I'm amazed that the reference "loser" is obviously not just aimed at the Football club but at the town in general.

 

The guy obviously has no idea that we are in the thorws of declaring Billericay an independent country and will annex Basildon as part of our plan to dominate the world.
